Excited about the big city show this weekend! I'm going to be at Loring Park for the Loring Park Art Festival. Looking forward to the urban scene.
The following weekend will bring us back to the Uptown Art Festival and Northfield (Saturday morning). Hoping for some beautiful weather again this year. Meanwhile, enjoying a bountiful harvest in our home garden. Hooray for summer! Looking forward to seeing many of you soon. This week's picture is of my crepe rake and tool set. Scarce now, but hoping to make more soon!

Looking forward to seeing good friends in Northfield this weekend. I'll be at Riverwalk at the main square from 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturday. Hope to see you all there!
This weekend, I'm headed to the Cannon River Wine and Art Festival, close to my shop home of Cannon Falls. We won't be at Riverwalk in Northfield this weekend (but will be there next!) Very excited to have gotten some beautiful cherry wood from a supporter - look out for some gorgeous cherry ladles later next month. Also turned some beautiful new bowls to keep up with demand. Sharing a picture of my classic muddler design. Did someone say mojito? Hope that your gardens are prolific and evenings pleasant while we have this amazing summer weather. Be well, Benjamin Feeling very excited about making the trek up to Grand Marais in northern Minnesota this weekend! I'm eager to see the different landscape, cliffs and all. And, I've heard about some fantastic spots to eat while I'm there. Should be another great weekend. Only downside is that my family is sticking around in Northfield (Rachel is covering Riverwalk Market on Saturday morning.) But, I'll take pictures and if it all goes as planned, we'll be there together next year.
Hope you all are staying safe in these mid-summer storms! (Remember, if you've got a downed/damaged tree - especially walnut, maple, cherry, or ash - let me know and perhaps we could make some good of it by turning it into bowls.) p.s. the picture is from a recent set of nesting bowls that I turned. Largest bowl is about 22' in diameter. Perfect set for entertaining! Hope to see many of you up in Grand Marais! Be well, Benjamin Thank you, Excelsior! What a wonderful weekend at the lake. After 20 hours spent within a stone's throw of the water's edge, life is looking pretty sweet. Sharing a picture of me with daughter Ruby. It was this good.
Next Saturday, I'm back at Riverwalk to see the fine people of Northfield and beyond. Sunday brings me to Lanesboro for the Art in the Park Event - a Father's Day Art celebration. Be well. Lake Minnetonka, that is...This weekend it's the 36th Annual Art on the Lake Festival in Excelsior. I will be in booth #3...just behind my tent is the shoreline of Lake Minnetonka. Pretty sweet. If you don't see me in my tent, I'll be right behind, casting to see if I can catch dinner :)
On Saturday morning, Rachel will be at Northfield's Riverwalk - just a stone's throw from the Cannon River. Another lovely sight. That market is from 9 AM until 1 PM. It was wonderful to see so many of you last weekend in Edina - fun show with gorgeous weather on Sunday! Looking forward to this weekend's show - the Edina Art Fair. Cannon River Bowl and Spoon (me!) will be in Booth 270, on 50th just east of Ewing Avenue. We are so excited to be at this show, which is one of Minnesota's largest.
This summer promises to be busy, with shows throughout Minnesota for much of the summer. It's the perfect opportunity for me to get to know people from all over the state - and to see some of the sites along the way. Garden report - our blueberries will be ready next week. Get excited. This week, I'm taking a break from the studio to create a backyard garden for our home. I'm busy building raised plant beds (filled with hay bales and dirt.) Today the strawberries got planted. Later this week, comes the apple trees, blueberries, and raspberries. I was reminded of how great it feels to work outside, digging and splitting wood. I'll post pictures once it all starts to take shape.
After a warm welcome and really enjoyable ACC show in St. Paul, I am excited about the season ahead! In two weeks (April 30 - May 1), I'll be at the Fresh Art & Garden Show at Jennifer Wolcott's farm in Waterford, MN. 3725 321st Street | Northfield, MN 55057 For years, I've been going to the American Craft Council show in Baltimore. I've been inspired by the artists and enjoyed many conversations with them and fellow patrons. I'm excited to say that this week I'll be one of the artists at the ACC at RiverCenter in St. Paul. Setting up tomorrow and then at the show from Thursday until Sunday. Four days of fun! Hope to see many of you there. For those of you who are interested in seeing some of the top artists around the country, this is the show to attend. There's a small entrance fee. You'll be amazed by the artistry in the clothing, jewelry, carvings, and sculptures. It's truly stunning. Meanwhile, I've been lining up a bunch of other shows for the summer. Hope to post an updated schedule soon. And, as always, you can find me on Etsy! |
