Get to Know Cannon River Bowl & Spoon
I'm wood artist Benjamin Leatham. I create an original and extensive line of cherry, walnut, birch, and maple kitchenware, serving bowls, and cutting boards. My designs follow my philosophy:
Surround yourself with things you find beautiful and use them everyday.
In 2008, the housing crises ended my successful cabinetry and furniture making business in Maryland. Out of the ashes, and a need for just the right wok tool, I moved my workshop to Southeastern Minnesota and started Cannon River Bowl & Spoon.
My partner joined CRB&S in October of 2017. Darcy Horn applies the finish and does the final fine sand. She also handles our online presence and customer service.
An amazing opportunity to move to the North Shore happened in 2020, so we moved house and studio to Northeastern Minnesota and are loving it!
CRB&S produces truly hand turned bowls and finely sculpted utensils, exquisitely sanded and durably finished. We limit our impact on the environment and resources, never having a tree cut down for use and instead salvage wood from local tree services and storms. Works can be found at juried art shows across the country and online.
